about this sculpture
flying high (65 cm) is a scaled version of the male figure from flying high, which exists in a small (10×15×5 cm, 2017) and a mid size (30×33×9 cm, 2023). because the work was modeled digitally, it can be enlarged without losing its form — but at this size the figure has to carry its own weight in mid-air.
that is why the large version is printed in petg, a tough and slightly flexible material, and built around an internal armature. the construction keeps the outstretched arms and legs stable, so the sculpture can hang freely for years. nylon threads for hanging are included.
